This was our first time here having driven by this place many times. We stopped mostly because the reviews were good. The decor is what you would expect with antiques on the wall and a stuffed deer head. The fireplace was a plus. Our waitress was awesome. After she took our drink orders she let us know what they were out of (as they had a very busy weekend) which was awesome as you usually have to order first before they let you know what they are out of. It didn't affect us anyway. We both orders Iced Tea that was good and came in large Mason Jars. We started with an order of Fried Mushrooms that comes with a horseradish ranch dipping sauce. The Mushrooms were hand battered and the sauce very good. The Mushrooms were served in a mini fry basket, very cute. My wife ordered the Fried Chicken Livers with Turnip Greens, Cabbage and Green Beans. She said her sides were very good. She liked the Chicken Livers as well. They were hand battered. She prefers a buttermilk batter but they were good. I ordered the Country Fried Steak with Turnip Greens and Fried Okra. It comes with Mashed Potatoes. The Steak was hand battered and the Mashed Potatoes were a good complement to the Steak and Milk Gravy. All of our food came out promptly and was piping hot. I can see us coming here again when driving through. I can't wait to come back. They are also know for their pies and Fried Pies. Will have to try those on the next trip. Give it a try you won't be sorry. B the prices are fair and the portions generous.

Traveling through for business and decided to stop in based on reviews. Not really my favorite type of food as the menu mostly consists of rich and fried foods, however, they had a few healthier choices. I went with the marinated chicken with bbq baked beans, slaw and fries. It was really good the chicken had a great flavor and char, the slaw was homemade with a sweet taste and the baked beans were pretty good too. The fries were waffle shaped and really good and crispy. I noticed they had homemade pies that looked fulfilling and good, maybe next time

The food here was terrific and we really needed a home cooked meal with as much traveling as we've been doing. The restaurant floor was pretty dirty I didn't like that at all. I am going to give four stars for great food and service and take one away for the dirty floor.

One of my favorite places to eat in all the US. Everything is perfect. The pies are phenomenal. I've ate here at least 10 times in the last couple years and I would put this place up against any top diner. They serve the southern meat with three for $7.45 as a lunch special. YOU WILL LOVE THIS PLACE. Everything is made FRESH.

I ate here two times in 14 hours. Sure there aren't too many options nearby that don't involve a sneeze shield or food served in a paper wrapper but it was tasty and plentiful and I spied a few things on the menu that I wanted to try the next day. Okay, it was one thing: fried bologna. I was in Hurricane Mills to see Miss Loretta Lynn perform at her ranch and a local recommended the Log Cabin. We had dinner before the show and unlike some other Yelpers the service was fine; it wasn't speedy but exactly how I expected it to be on a busy Saturday night. Same goes for Sunday morning. My friend and I clearly were not from those parts and both our waitresses were super friendly and sweet so I'm crying foul on the suggestion locals get better service. There were no expectations going in that I would find something green or healthy so I selected a meal that I wouldn't make myself-- chicken fried steak. It was delicious. The steak was perfectly floured and fried, the gravy tasty (albeit a little salty) and the mashed potatoes, creamed corn and okra were equally good. I washed it all down with a giant jar of unsweetened tea (as I said I'm not from around there) and entertained myself throughout dinner watching waitresses wrangle the cutting and serving of pies with meringues easily towering 6" high. Had I not eaten as though I was a farmer/teenage boy/glutton I might have had some pie but I had to pass thinking I might have a slice Sunday morning. My grandmother used to make me fired bologna sandwiches on white with a slice of raw onion so that's what I ordered. It was thick cut and I ordered it extra crispy. The sandwich was served as ordered and like Saturday night's dinner it was gargantuan. Truthfully I could only eat about half of it but I've had my fix and satisfied my craving so I'm good on bologna consumption for another decade. A breakfast potato choice is an odd casserole thing made with shredded potatoes, cheese and mushroom soup. I thought it sounded revolting so I ordered hash browns extra crispy. They were good but I had a bite of my friend's potato casserole and it was remarkable. Remarkably delicious. If I hadn't been concerned that I had consumed more calories, fat and sodium in two meals than I normally get in a week and a half I would have ordered my own. Sadly we didn't sit in the pie room for breakfast but as it turns out the pie man hadn't delivered them yet so no pie for me; instead I ate half of my friend's biscuit. The biscuit was tasty and flaky and because of that biscuit I have one not nice thing to say about The Log Cabin. They serve little packages of big-brand jelly. I so much wanted a little dab of homemade jam but it sadly wasn't offered. If disappointment in jelly choice is the only thing bad thing to say about a restaurant I think that means one thing: EAT HERE!

I come here every time I come to Tennessee The perfect mix of comfortable home cooked food with great service usually. The food was great but our waiter was a little impatient when my kids couldn't make up thier minds on what they wanted to order The Reason for the 3 stars

I've eaten here a few times. Invariably, it's because I was working somewhere in West TN and I'm starving on my way home. It's always OK. The Cajun Chicken Salad is not very Cajun-y and the salad underneath the chicken is unimaginative. I don't need a cup of shredded cheddar cheese, more fresh vegetables would be better. I can't even remember what I've had the other times..other than turnip greens because I always love those. Prices are a little high for what it is, but not extreme. The service, I've noticed, is friendlier to the obvious regulars. I'll probably end up here again sometime but it's not a destination restaurant. Nice to have something that's not fast food on 40 though.

Wow! We simply stopped at this exit to fill up on gas - we certainly didn't expect to get a great breakfast at this very exit. The restaurant looks modest from the outside, but once I researched the place on Yelp, I simply directed my family by pointing across the street and saying "We're eating breakfast at the Log Cabin - this place has really great reviews apparently." Sure enough, it was a fast satisfying breakfast. Service was genuine and attentive. Our coffee mugs never went empty. The potato casserole was delicious. Bacon was crisp, and our eggs were perfectly cooked to order. We had more toast than we could handle. The portions were fairly large, too. Overall, great and fast service with a smile. The food is pretty darn good! Highly recommend this place if you're at the exit filling up on gas and decide that you need a satisfying bite to eat!

Slap your mama good!!! You must try this local haunt, been around since the 60s. Southern cooking at its best. Green beans made with pork add it should be. Pork chops with a great char and very moist. Cone and get it!!

Country cooking at its best, service at its worst. If you like unhealthy, good old fashioned country cooking this is your place. If you are looking for anything healthy and good service move along. We have been coming here for years, but won't be back. It's not the unhealthy food. We enjoy the occasional unhealthy country meal. But, bad service can't be excused. We had a large group, called the day before to let them know we intended to come. They advised us to call back the next day about an hour before coming so they could add us to the list and try to have a table ready. So, we did. We got there and the lady at the desk treated us rudely, like we were bothering her. Another group came in the same size as ours, after us and was friends with the lady at the desk and she seated them before us. When asked why, she said they wanted to be seated at 1:50 and you wanted to be seated at 2:00. So, we ask if our table we be ready at 2:00. She said probably not, it will probably be more like 2:45, all the time being rude and dismissive. It's not that we wanted to be seated at 2:00, when we called we said we would be there around 2:00, we were coming from about an hour away just to eat here. What a wasted trip, because we left without eating! Never again. Nobody should get preferential treatment because of who you know.

I live a couple exits away on I-40, so I go past it often. Eat there a few times a year, just because. Traditional Southern cooking. That means vegetables are cooked to mush or deep fried so if you're not accustomed to that, it may be a bit off-putting for you. The Fried Green Tomatoes are perfection. The fried chicken is the second-best I've ever eaten. Moist and tender with just the right amount of crunchy breading. The "cajun" version is better than the regular variety, but slightly disappointing only because there is absolutely NO spice I could detect. The rest of the dinner/lunch menu is good, if unspectacular. Steaks are on the pricier side. I don't like yeast rolls, so I get the corn muffins. Nothing special. They give you some crappy "buttery" spread instead of real butter. ICK! Breakfast is outstanding. Bacon is cooked to just the right texture, in my opinion. Crisp yet still chewy. The grits have been hit-or-miss. Biscuits are good and the cream gravy is very good. Pancakes are very good. Again,,,real butter would be a great improvement. Some of the waitresses have been great, others mediocre, but always friendly. Sucky Country music on the sound system is usually drowned out by the patrons talking in their best Southern "indoor" voices, which means you will be able to follow conversations taking place three or four tables away.

Great French Dip sandwich for me and my wife had a grilled chicken salad with lots of veggies she enjoyed. Service was friendly and prompt. We will definitely stop here again next time we pass by.

I loved this place! The interior is so cozy and the gift shop has lots of fun stuff to take with you. I bought two jams and little homemade cook book. Our waitress was so nice and sweet. We were just passing through so it was fun to experience some authentic southern food. I got the vegetable plate and it was all delicious which I ended up stuffing into their butter biscuits which are to die for. The portions are also generous. I highly recommend.

Good breakfast. Reasonable price. My steak was a little tough and had some gristle. With the cost of beef right now some places are buying cheaper beef instead of raising prices. I'd go back and recommend you stop to eat here. Service was excellent. Nice waitress. Fast in and out.

Not one single waitress stopped filling sugar, salt or pepper to take our order. Got up and left. Worst wait staff ever. Men's room a mess; someone took a dump and never flushed the toilet. Save your money and go somewhere else. This place deserves 0 stars.

Ate here last night because our favorite BBQ place wasn't open. I had a fried green tomato appetizer - half of the tomatoes were breaded before they were fried; those were good. The others were just fried tomatoes. Disappointing. For a meal I ordered the chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes. Apparently, whoever is preparing the food doesn't know about seasonings. Once I added some salt and pepper it was somewhat palatable. I've made better myself. This morning I woke up with a stomachache, as did my husband. Definitely won't be returning to The Log Cabin.

  • David H.

It's ok. Service was so so you could tell that if you're not a local they could care less, and the food was a little over priced for what we got. The fried chicken was very greasy and never was ask for refills on drinks until we was ready to leave and asked for our check.

  • Anton V.

The customer service was fabulous. The food was absolutely delicious. I felt like I was eating at home. All the ingredients are very fresh, and none of the veggie sides were overly oily or greasy like you find in a typical meat and three. The price was definitely reasonable.

I simply love coming here. Now the unsweetened tea is served in a mason jar, adding to the experience. The pies remain outstanding. The veggie plate is one of the best around. Service is always provided with a smile. I will keep this updated review short. No reason to repeat what I last reported.

The food here is very good but I think the prices are a little high. This place puts Loretta's Kitchen to shame. I had the country fried steak. The steak was perfect and not over battered. The mustard greens were a little different than what I am used to but were delicious The service was more than adequate but did not make up for the higher price.

Great spot for traditional Southern Specialties right off of I 40. If you are traveling between Memphis and Nashville, there are not many good stops, with the exception of a few restaurants in Jackson. Otherwise its all chain restaurants. This place is a great, small town, privately owned restaurant serving the best southern food. We had the fried chicken livers and fried catfish, both great. They also have steak and a number of other options.

  • Vanessa G.

Stopped by this place while on I40, it's not a log cabin though as we'd expected. We ordered the fried mushrooms as an appetizer, a BLT sandwich, fried chicken dinner, & 2 pieces of pie; fudge & buttermilk. The fried chicken breast was the best we'd had in a while & everything else, though not memorable, was certainly tasty & definitely better than a quick fast food meal or cracker barrel.

Wonderful atmosphere. The staff is exceptionally friendly. We had the steak salad. It was very, very good. We were very surprised and will very dodge tally return. It's a great place to stop to break up the trip between Memphis and Nashville. The cost of the meal is reasonable. The establishment is very clean to include their bathrooms.

Southern cooking! Great food and service. Very reasonably priced. I didn't have the dessert but the pies looked outstanding. Food came out fairly quickly Incase you're just passing through on the interstate.

This is one of my favorite stops along I-40. It's perfectly Southern! From the decor, to the food, to the servers.. everything is perfectly Southern, which warms my heart! My favorite thing here is their pies. Their meringue is sky high and delicious! Everything on the menu is Southern- fried green tomatoes, frog legs, and sweet tea. The food is delicious. And even if I'm full I always stop by and get some dessert here on the way to Nashville.

We had a wonderful breakfast, and the staff was friendly. It was also very kid friendly. The biscuits and the hash brown casserole are amazing. We would definitely return, and it is right off I40 West.

If you like true southern cooking, this is the place to go . I ordered the fried green tomatoes and expected to only get about three. The appetizer order came out with 10+! It was delicious and tasted just like my grandmother used to make . The balance of corn meal breading and tomato slice was just right. Of course a little bit greasy , but that is what you get with an authentic dish like this. The pinto beans were very flavorful and a large portion . We wanted to try the homemade fried pies but just did not have room. I will make a special trip just for this place again!

I went her on the recommendation of a friend otherwise would not have stopped. The outside looks unassuming bit once you walk on there is a nice fire place. The service was really friendly and great. They serve drinks in mason jars, it adds to the southern charm. Right next to me thee was an old couple that are there for the past ten years, every time they make the Texas to north aeolian road trip. If you need a nice break from driving along interstate 40 this is the place.

I am a very critical food snob when it comes to true country cooking. For example, I enjoy Cracker Barrel but we all know it's not Grandma quality, but it'll do. So I am skeptical when a restaurant boasts "southern cooking." Everything we ordered was amazing from here! I had fried chicken livers, mac n cheese, turnip greens and pinto beans. My husband had catfish, fries, okra, white and hushpuppies. We had both cornbread muffins and yeast rolls with butter and jams. On the exceptional list is: turnip greens, wow- cooked till tender but not mush and seasoned perfectly, and just enough pot liqueur. Pinto beans, not mushy but tender with smooth, creamy delicious juice and perfectly seasoned also. Added some onion and chow chow- yummy! Yeast rolls! Oh my, see, I don't like the a typical O Charley's yeast roll, it's all air! But these are so darn delish with good crumb texture and almost sour dough flavor. If I had one complaint it would be that they needed about 3 more minutes of cooking time. Chicken livers were fried in the most light, flaky crisp batter! Tea was brewed right, not too strong but not see through. Corn muffins were just the right texture and not too sweet. Hubby loved his meal as well. We got an unbelievable amount of food and plenty to take home, and it warmed up nicely. We got coconut creme pie to go and glad we did. BEST COCONUT CREME PIE EVER! Mile high merengue that didn't weep and a custard that wasn't overly sweet or eggy. These folks have got it right! I wanted to add that most meals come with 3 sides. That is important to me because while we are known in TN for our meat and 3's, it's almost always two sides. We love our sides and they had an awesome selection. They come out in little bowls rather than the tiny ones you usually see at Cracker Barrel. The prices for almost any basic meal was 10-15 bucks and let me tell you, worth it!

We love this place . Always stop for lunch on the way to Memphis and breakfast on the way home. Can't go wrong with country fried steak and the white beans are fantastic!

Fantastic breakfast! We were traveling to Jackson and decided to stop here for breakfast after reading yelp reviews. I'm so glad we did because a great breakfast starts your day off right. I ordered the eye opener breakfast with scrambled eggs, sausage, toast, home fries, and gravy. My favorite thing to eat for breakfast is potatoes with white gravy on them. Everything was cooked perfectly and delicious. We were a little worried because we didn't have a lot of time. We knew we couldn't spend an hour or longer in a restaurant because we had to be in Jackson by 10am. The service here was way above my expectations. We had our food in 10 minutes. Everyone should stop here for breakfast if you are in the area even if you are in a hurry. They will serve you great food with quick and friendly service.

The wife and I were passing thur, and were lucky enough to find this gem. Right from the start the parking lot was full (always a good sign). Inside was clean and well staffed, but the kicker was the food, DELICIOUS, we both had half a rack of ribs, those some of the meatiest ribs I've ever had, good thing we only ordered half racks, and baked beans were to die for, I know that's sounds silly but you'll see, I don't even like cole slaw but I ate this, Folks don't miss this place, it was a very pleasant surprise indeed.

Excellent country style food, friendly staff, atmosphere "country-cosy," appeared very clean, and reasonable priced. My burger and really good - thick meat patty, fresh fixings, onion rings very crispy. Also tasted pinto beans and cornbread - excellent like the Cracker Barrel's. Husband had fried chicken breast special with 3 sides for $7.85 he said was better than normal boneless fried chicken. You won't go wrong stopping here - exit 143 off I-40.

I had lunch here today and loved it. I tried the Patty Melt and will certainly have it again. Hamburger patty with sauteed onions and swiss cheese on grilled marbled rye bread and served with french fries. Wow! This was good. My friend had fried chicken with 3 vegetables and loved it. I made the "mistake" of sitting at the table beside the pie cutting counter. What a treat watching them cut such beautiful pies - - some with mile high meringue. They looked so good that we had to try 2 of them and our waitress was kind enough to split them in half so we could both try them. AMAZING! As if that wasn't enough, the waitresses were so friendly and helpful. I can't wait to go back.

  • Terry F.

I had the chicken fried steak it was served in what seemed like a double thick hotpocket of breading. I was able to pull the chewy steak out of the breading just like it was stuffed in a hotpocket. The cornbread seemed a little salty too. For the good, the mash potatoes were good and the creamed corn, the green beans were the wide type. The food of the other diners looked good and I'm sure other things on the menu would have been much better. $13 no drink.

They stayed open late cause I called ahead saying we were driving thru and were hungry. They are amazing and the staff is very friendly. Only thing I would recommend is having a picture or the menu online somewhere so that you can call ahead. Food was really really good! My boyfriend is went to culinary school and he was impressed with the way everything tasted. They also have a shop that has various Amish jams etc. they are great too!

Our caravan stopped here on our road trip to Memphis for the Liberty Bowl for breakfast and it was a great stop. : The service was great as the server was very friendly and treated us like family. The atmosphere was very nice as well. This is country cooking at it's finest. We ordered almost all the breakfast menu and split up the plates so everyone could get a taste and the favorites were the made from scratch awesome biscuits and gravy. : The prices are also reasonable considering the plate is full of great country cooking. The pies sounded and looked delicious, but we were full and had about four more hours on the trip in the car and the pie would have melted. ::A must for anyone stopping at this exit and looking for some of the best country food.

I went here because of the good reviews. However, this was not a good food experience. The chicken fried steak meat had an awful ruined taste to it so we sent it back. All 3 of them. The vegetables that came with it were just ok, kind of bland. I didn't eat the mashed potatoes or gravy. There may be other things good here. They were very nice about it and gave us a fried chicken breast. I didn't eat much of it though either. The best thing I can say is that the customer service was good.

We were spending the night at a local hotel here and decided to give place a try as the only other real option seemed to be Loretta Lynn's Kitchen ( I guess Miss Lynn is from around there because pretty much every other thing in town had here name on it) and the reviews for it were not stellar and it seemed a bit of a tourist trap to me. As it turned out, we made a good choice. After a bit of a wait for a table, we were served immediately. Our waitress was fast and attentive despite there being a full house. My wife ordered a half a slab of baby-backs with crosscut fries and slaw. I ordered the "Roast Beef" with mashed and the green beans. My wife said the ribs were OK but she really liked both the fries and slaw. i was surprised by the Roast Beef because it wasn't. What it was - was an excellent, thick sliced, fork tender Pot Roast served with delicious brown gravy. (One thing those Southern ladies can do is make gravy!) . The mashed potatoes were also quite good. Then again, that gravy could probably make cardboard taste good. As were the green beans. Which surprised me a little because these were the oriental green beans, the flat, fat ones, which usually are not my fav but these were excellent as well. For desert we ordered a piece of pecan pie to go as we were both fairly stuffed with that meal. We threw that in the cooler and forgot about it until the next evening when we had it as a snack while taking a break in a rest stop. It was a good thing too. I'm a diabetic and I'm really not supposed to eat this stuff, so it was good thing we only had a single piece to share! There would not be enough insulin in the world to help me if I had an unlimited supply of this stuff! Oh man, it was GOOD!!! Oh, and while we didn't have them (I'm allergic) the three women at the next table were absolutely raving over the fried green tomatoes. All in all, I would definitely recommend and will certainly return when in the neighborhood.

The Log Cabin is a nice place to stop while on a road trip or if you just want something fried. We ordered the fried green tomatoes as an appetizer. The batter was perfectly seasoned and crispy. I had the country fried steak, mac and cheese and greens for dinner. The meal also came with mashed potatoes. The mac and cheese and greens were great. I wasn't crazy about the mashed potatoes or the gravy they placed on top. The steak batter needed a little seasoning. The portions were very large and I took half of my meal home. The service was excellent. Try to save room for dessert. The homemade pies looked amazing, but I did not have any room left to try.

I look forward to eating here on our road trip each year! They have some of the best fried chicken, it is worth the 20 minute wait. The portions size is great for the price. We enjoy several of the side dishes, the green beans are cooked with bacon, the white beans are great. You cant go wrong with this place.

Southern comfort food by the way everyone's plates looked. Too much for a light lunch so we opted for sandwiches and soup. Best Italian wedding soups I've ever had. Beef barley and patty melt just ok. Onions could have been more fried. Chicken tenders delish. Spaghetti typical cafeteria style. Noodles over cooked. not al dente but then again this is not an Italian restaurant. Good place to stop while traveling.

This place looks quaint when you first enter. The waitresses are all very nice and attentive. I got the ribs with baked beans and coleslaw, and the ribs were literally the very best I have ever eaten in all my life's memory. It was very reasonably priced, like going to an average chain restaurant. This place is an absolute must visit if you're in the area.

If you're ever traveling from Nashville to Memphis on 1-40 and a bus burns down, halting traffic and forcing you to get off on 143 you HAVE to stop at Log Cabin Restaurant in Buffalo, TN. Amazing food! And cheap! Bone-in fried catfish, REALLY! Homemade pies that are stacked so high they could go to a Pentecostal church service. I loved it when the sweetheart of a waitress asked if we wanted some 'sweet tea'. There are far too few of these types of places left. Support them even if there are no burning buses around, it's worth it. Go! (oh, no one was hurt on the bus)

Cute place. Good menu. Good food. This is always a long haul on the interstate without many choices, but the Log Cabin is a good sound choice. Their country-style food was good and the environment is pleasant and laid back.

Stopped in looking for some local food on our trip across Tennessee. The service was friendly and very attentive. I ordered a sweet tea and the roast beef plate with fried okra, macaroni and cheese and turnip greens. R ordered the chicken and dumplings. The food came out quicker than expected and was excellent. The roast beef was literally falling apart it was so tender, but yet wasn't overcooked. The macaroni was a little thin for my taste but was still excellent and the turnip greens were delectable, not the best of all time, but still a formidable challenger. R said that her dish was equally as tasty, and seemed to be completely bottomless, she couldn't even come close to finishing it. All of this came at a solid price point, with a down home atmosphere, charming locals and clean restrooms hidden behind an unassuming exterior. If we're ever passing through again, we'll be certain to stop back.

Best food we found on our round trip between Dallas Texas and Raleigh North Carolina! My husband had chicken fried steak with baked apples and green beans. I had the ribeye steak salad with the homemade horseradish ranch dressing. My steak was cooked to perfection and my husband said his meal was very, very good. We had homemade chocolate and coconut pie and both were awesome! We were served very quickly at peak lunch time, all the wait staff was very pleasant and everything appeared very clean. We overheard two men at a table next to us say they had never had a bad meal there. Looking forward to eating there again!

Great home cooking. This place has a bunch of grannies in the back that have been here forever.

While traveling home to Owensboro Ky from Olive Branch, MS, we stopped at The Log Cabin on a Sunday after church. The place was crowed, but we got served quickly. They had the fried chicken fillet with 3 veg (reg 10.95 for 8.95) as the special. My husband and I both chose it with the following veg between us: mashed potatoes and gravy, pinto beans, green beans, fried okra, and Mac and cheese. Chicken was golden fried (I thought seasoning was little salty but my husband thought it was great) tender and not dried out. Green beans were the flat Italian flavored with bacon as well as the pinto beans. Fried okra was great as well as the Mac and cheese. I ordered the Mexican cornbread and each bite had a pepper in it - truly had a bite to it. Sweet ice tea was great. We couldn't resist buying the sweet and salty cookies and a fried apple pie on the way out. (they sell 200 fried pies a week). Don't have room to eat now so can't review them. Overall great experience and would certainly eat there again.

Visiting TN overnight last minute. Little town, not a ton of choices for dinner but hankering for 'dinner' not fast food. The Log Cabin was perfect! GREAT SERVICE! Very busy with the motorcross event in town and the wait was reasonable, staff was attentive and friendly. I can be a food snob, and am always leary about eating at restaurants I don't know. For a country restaurant the food was amazing-my kids ate every bite(and they can be foo snobs too) my vegetable and steak were perfect! If you are around Hurricane Mills you have to try them at least once.

The pregnant girl @ the front wasn't too friendly, but I guess that's understandable... Kay was a pleasant waitress but the food wasn't great. Portions are small.

Excellent stop; better than Cracker Barrel. At first, the impression is a poorly decorated tired restaurant that is well past it's prime. However, the waitress was very attentive and friendly, and the food was fast. What we were blown away by was how good everything tasted. Expected canned everything, but we were pleasantly surprised. We had the chicken and dumplings, and grilled marinated chicken. Both were great. The corn bread was simply amazing...no butter needed. Pie was great, of course. This is a quaint but well run home style restaurant. Would eat here again!

If you have a craving for some fried bologna or some other similar high caloric content food, this is the place for you. Skip the pie, which is gross, but loosen your belt and dive into the fatty deliciousness. Actually, this is probably the best place to eat at exit 143, despite all the signs advertising Loretta Lynn's Kitchen.
